Highland Beach

Welcome to HIGHLAND BEACH

A tiny coastal city with unparalleled ocean views

Highland Beach is a small coastal city situated between Boca Raton and Delray Beach alongside the scenic A1A. Incorporated into Palm Beach County in 1949, Highland Beach got its name due to its elevated townsite. It's the kind of place that doesn't even have a traffic light, making it an unparalleled tropical paradise with staggeringly beautiful ocean views.

Highland Beach has become a popular place for endangered sea turtles to nest thanks to its quiet, pristine beaches. The turtles lay their eggs from March through October before they hatch and travel to the ocean. While Highland Beach might be tiny and serene, it's an upscale community with luxury real estate and very few businesses. A mostly residential city, there are only two main businesses in operation: the lavish Delray Sands Resort and John P. O'Grady Realty.

Dining, Entertaining & Shopping

Since Highland Beach is a primarily residential place to live, most residents travel to nearby Delray Beach for entertainment, nightlife, shopping, or restaurants. The following are some local favorites in Highland Beach.

Caffe Luna Rosa is a classic Italian trattoria and a Delray Beach stape with incredible ocean views and savory menu items—including their signature brunch dish, eggs Benedict with crabmeat. Coupled with their fair prices and excellent wine list, Caffe Luna Rose is often busy, so it's best to make a reservation if you can.

For decadent Nuevo Latin eats, dine at the colorful and lively Cabana El Rey, which offers private rooms and outdoor seating. Known for their savory food alongside their festive drinks, including authentic mojitos and sangria, this is the perfect place for a fun night out with friends.

Dine on Mediterranean cuisine in the intimate, sophisticated atmosphere of Joseph's Wine Bar and Café. As their name suggests, this classy eatery has walls lined with wine bottles, hinting at their legendary wine listing and bar options. They have outdoor seating and are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

For dessert, visit Proper Ice Cream to enjoy ice cream, soft serve, sorbet, or a vegan dessert. Located next to iPic Theaters, this creamery is all about high-quality artisanal ice cream with a huge rotating selection of flavors.
